AP Fall Seminar: Professional Development for K-12 Teachers

TCU Fall Virtual Seminar 2021 Information

Dates: Saturday, October 16th or 23rd

Who should attend: TCU’s one-day Fall Virtual Seminar Workshops are designed to equip educators to support student learning and success in Advanced Placement Courses. The workshops will be facilitated by experienced instructors who will provide pedagogical tools within course specific content examples.

In this Fall seminar, Teachers will:

  • Examine student response samples for free response questions and calibrate rubric alignment.
  • Recognize and write/ adapt and modify AP-style items of appropriate rigor.
  • Scaffold instruction in order to support students so they can successfully engage with AP-style tasks unit by unit.
  • Design and apply scoring rubrics in order to supply students with feedback on AP-style assessments.

When and Where:  Saturdays in October from 8:30-3:30 Central Standard Time. Please see specific dates for each course. Sessions will be held online via Video Conferencing in an interactive format.

Registration:  $200 tuition     $225 late tuition (0-7 days prior to class beginning)

Registration: Classes can fill early. Late registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. Completed registration forms can be accepted when accompanied by a check, copy of a purchase order. A credit card may be used as a form of payment with online registrations or by calling our office at 817-257-7132. Once our office receives your completed paid registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If the class is full, you will be notified of your wait list status.

Ways to Register:

Professional Development Credits: Participants will receive 6 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits via digital certificate.

Cancellation and Refund Policies:  TCU reserves the right to cancel classes when required minimum enrollment is not met. Instructor illness or extreme weather may also cause the interruption of scheduled classes. TCU will issue a full refund for cancelled registrations received in writing 5 days prior to the start of a class. After that date, no refunds will be possible.
